Nigerian Senator Launches Social and Economic Empowerment Fund for Indigent Constituents

The "SMK Social Welfare Intervention Programme" (SMK-SWIP) was launched in Kafanchan on Monday.

The program aims to cater to the needs of 400 people selected from the 87 wards of the senatorial district.
According to the lawmaker, the pilot scheme will see 20 beneficiaries from each of the eight local government areas receiving N100,000 each, while 30 others will receive N50,000 each. Senator Katung assured the people that the program will be sustained throughout his tenure in office.
