Fintech Firm Fintava Partners with Bizipay to Expand Financial Access in Jigawa State

A significant milestone has been achieved in the quest for financial inclusion in Nigeria, as Fintava, a Nigerian fintech company, has partnered with Bizipay, an agent network in Kano, to expand financial access to over 100,000 unbanked individuals in Jigawa State. The innovative partnership aims to bridge the financial inclusion gap in the state by leveraging Bizipay’s extensive agent network to provide banking services to the unbanked population.

Under the partnership, Fintava will provide customized Point of Sale and ATM cards, enabling beneficiaries to access essential goods and services from palliative shops across the state. This initiative aligns with the Jigawa State Government’s efforts to establish cashless palliative shops, inaugurated by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The partnership is expected to significantly enhance financial inclusion, economic growth, and social development in the region. The founder of Bizipay, Dr. Aminu Bizi, commended Fintava’s financial technology, describing it as "one of the best in the country due to its ease, simplicity, and flexibility."

Fintava’s mission to empower individuals through financial technology continues to gain momentum, and this partnership marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey. By bringing modern financial services to the people of Jigawa State, Fintava is not only enhancing their access to essential goods but also contributing to the broader goal of financial inclusion in Nigeria.

The Chief Operating Officer at Fintava, Samuel Ojerinde, expressed his enthusiasm about the project, noting that it solidifies the company’s place as a major player in the Nigerian fintech industry. "This partnership with Bizipay demonstrates our commitment to driving financial inclusion and providing accessible banking solutions to underserved communities," he said.

Last month, Fintava announced that it was broadening access to financial services in the country through its innovative banking-as-a-service technology, promoting financial inclusion for underserved populations. According to Fintava, its BaaS model enables non-bank businesses to integrate financial services directly into their products via APIs, allowing them to offer services such as branded credit cards, payment processing, and savings accounts without needing to become banks themselves.

This partnership is a significant step towards achieving financial inclusion in Nigeria, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of the unbanked individuals in Jigawa State.
