Nigerian Politician Blames President Tinubu for Violent Protests in Northern Region

A former Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has accused President Bola Tinubu of being responsible for the violent turn of the #Endbadgovernance protests in the Northern region. The protests, which aimed to address hunger and hardship, turned violent in some states, with reports of looting and destruction of property.

Sani, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, claimed that the violence was orchestrated by President Tinubu, citing the sharing of money and foreign flags among protesters as evidence. He alleged that the intention behind the protests was not to address government policies, but to overthrow the government.

In a series of posts on his social media account, Sani wrote that the North should take responsibility for its problems and stop blaming others. He urged leaders to work together to develop a plan to address decades of poverty, illiteracy, and underdevelopment in the region.

Sani also expressed concern that the violence could deter foreign investors from investing in the region, citing the need for investors to insure themselves against ransom and riots.

The politician’s comments come as the Nigerian government is grappling with the aftermath of the violent protests, which left several people injured and property damaged. The government has condemned the violence and vowed to bring those responsible to justice.

The situation has sparked concerns about the stability of the region and the ability of the government to address the underlying issues driving the protests. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to Sani’s allegations and work to restore peace and stability to the region.
