Bauchi State Governor Faults President Tinubu’s Address on #EndBadGovernance Protest

In a bold move, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s nationwide address to Nigerians, calling for an end to the #EndBadGovernance protest. The governor spoke on Wednesday during the flag-off of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign for the local government election in Bauchi.

According to Mohammed, Tinubu’s speech on Sunday was empty and failed to address the problems and challenges facing the country. The governor said that the problems are not limited to the presidency, but are shared by all leaders from the presidency to the sub-national and local government levels.

Mohammed emphasized that the manifestations of the problems have different colorations, with the North being a wake-up call for good governance and respect for people. He highlighted the widespread anger and hunger in the region, which he believes must be addressed through development.

The governor also criticized the new policy thrust of the Federal Government, saying it is not working and has caused the current problems. He questioned the Federal Government’s accountability, asking how much money was made and what was done with it.

Mohammed’s comments come amid growing discontent among Nigerians over the removal of fuel subsidy and the increasing cost of living. The #EndBadGovernance protest has been ongoing for several weeks, with protesters calling for better governance and an end to corruption.
