Daydream AI Fashion: Turn Your Style Fantasies into Reality

Daydream: The AI-Powered Fashion Tool That Brings Your Style Dreams to Life

Imagine having the ability to describe your perfect outfit and having a tool that finds the exact matching pieces for you. This is the promise of Daydream, a new startup that uses artificial intelligence to make your fashion fantasies a reality.

The tool works by analyzing a user’s natural language prompt, such as "Bright colored sneakers that feel old school and classic," and then searches through its database of participating brands to find matching pieces of clothing. With a catalog of over 2,000 high-quality branded fashion items, Daydream promises to be the largest and most comprehensive fashion catalog found anywhere.

The startup’s catalog includes brands such as Altuzarra, Jimmy Choo, Dôen, Everlane, and Alo Yoga, with prices ranging from $40 tank tops to $128 jeans. However, for those on a budget, Daydream may not be the most affordable option, as the cheapest brand, Everlane, sells more expensive items.

Fortunately, Google already has a similar tool, "multisearch," built into its search engine. This tool allows users to search for products by combining text and image searches. Daydream has raised $50 million in seed funding from leading firms, including Forerunner Ventures, Index Ventures, Google Ventures, and True Ventures, as part of a larger trend in the industry.

According to a Pitchbook analysis of generative AI deals, there was a 268.4 percent increase in AI deal value in 2023 compared to 2024. Daydream’s founder, Julie Bornstein, has a background in the fashion industry, having previously worked as COO at StitchFix and co-founding fashion discovery platform The Yes, which was acquired by Pinterest in 2022.

Those interested in being one of the first to try Daydream can visit its website to register for its public beta later this year. With its innovative use of AI and extensive fashion catalog, Daydream has the potential to revolutionize the way we shop for fashion.
