Kenya’s Attorney General Nominee Reveals Net Worth of Sh85 Million

Dorcas Oduor, the nominee to replace Kenya’s former Attorney General Justin Muturi, has disclosed her net worth to be Sh85 million. The joint wealth of her family, Oduor revealed that the amount has not been distributed among her children since the death of her husband.

Speaking before the National Assembly Committee on Appointments, Oduor stated, "My total family net worth, because since my husband died, we have not distributed amongst my children, is Ksh.85 million. It is made up of land, houses and a car."

With over 30 years of experience in the legal profession, Oduor has served in various roles, including the State Law Office and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, where she is currently the Deputy Director. Her legal career began in 1992 when she was admitted to the role of advocate of the High Court.

Oduor has also held various positions, including Head of the Economic, International, and Emerging Crimes Departments at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, as well as Deputy Chief State Counsel and State Counsel in the Department of Public Prosecution at the then Office of the Attorney General.

As an advocate of the High Court, Oduor holds a Master of Arts in International Conflict Management, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), and a Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.

Oduor’s nomination to replace Muturi comes as the country prepares for a new era in its legal system. With her extensive experience and impressive credentials, she is poised to make a significant impact in her new role.
