Ohanaeze Youth Warns South-East Leaders Against Glorifying Igbos’ Non-Participation in Protest

Igbos Refuse to Participate in Protests, Accuse Governors of Conspiracy

The Youth Wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has warned South-East Governors and leaders not to take glory in the non-participation of Igbos in the nationwide End Bad Governance protests. The body claimed that Igbos avoided the protests due to their sense of history and the conspiracy against them.

In a statement released on Saturday, Igboayaka Igboayaka, the factional National President General of Ohanaeze Youth Council, accused the South-East Governors of "sycophantically" positioning themselves to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming they were instrumental in quenching the protests in the South-East.

The statement emphasized that the Governors lack the courage to adopt the Biafra anthem as a regional anthem or honor the Igbo heroes on May 30th. The Youth Wing claimed that the Governors are too far removed from the people and are instead led by "unmerited titles" such as "His Excellency".

The statement read: "So any SouthEast political leader that claims glory for Ndigbo shunning the Nationwide Protests is a chronic liar loved by the devil". The Youth Wing insisted that the reasons for the non-participation of Igbos in the protests are rooted in history and conspiracy, not instructions from the South-East Governors.

The Igbo Youth Wing also accused former President Muhammadu Buhari of being responsible for the Owerri Prison break in 2021, which they claim was an attempt to demonize the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and create a blood battlefield in the South-East.

The statement concluded that Ndigbo have been prioritizing a healing process in Igbo land for the thousands of people killed in Operation Python Dance under the supervision of the South-East Governors and Political Leaders.
