Katsina State Government Relaxes Curfew, Movement Now Permitted from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am

The Katsina State Government in Nigeria has made a significant adjustment to the curfew imposed earlier, allowing residents to move about freely from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. The decision was announced by the state’s Director of Press, Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua, in a statement on Saturday.

According to the statement, the Acting Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal, was satisfied with the improvement in the security situation across the state and has accordingly ordered the relaxation of the curfew. The previous curfew, which restricted movement from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, has been relaxed to begin from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am across the state.

The Secretary to the Government of the State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, announced the review of the curfew, citing the Acting Governor’s satisfaction with the reports on the improvement of the security situation. The statement also acknowledged the general conduct of security personnel and the people’s cooperation during the government’s efforts to control the situation.

In his statement, the Acting Governor appreciated the cooperation and urged the public to remain law-abiding as they continue with their daily routines. This development is expected to bring relief to the residents of Katsina State, who can now move about freely during the specified hours.
