Katsina State Government Relaxes Curfew

In a move aimed at easing restrictions on the movement of people, the Katsina State Government has announced the relaxation of its curfew. The new curfew hours will run from 10pm to 5am across the state.

According to a statement issued by the director of press, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Aliyu-Yar’adua, the decision was made after a review of the security situation in the state. The acting Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, expressed satisfaction with the improvement in the security situation and ordered the review of the curfew with immediate effect.

The curfew, which was previously in place from 7pm to 7am, was introduced to curb security concerns in the state. However, with the improvement in the security situation, the government has decided to relax the curfew to allow for greater freedom of movement.

In his statement, Mr. Aliyu-Yar’adua also praised the conduct of security personnel and the cooperation of the people during the previous curfew period. He quoted the acting governor as advising the people to remain law-abiding and continue with their daily routines.

The relaxation of the curfew is seen as a positive step towards normalizing life in Katsina State and allowing residents to go about their daily activities with greater ease.
