Team USA Wins Olympic Gold in Thrilling 98-87 Victory Over France

USA Men’s Basketball Team Wins Gold Medal at Paris Games

The USA men’s basketball team has secured its fifth consecutive Olympic win, defeating France 98-87 in the final match at the Paris Games on Saturday night. Led by the exceptional performance of Steph Curry, the team made history, winning their 17th gold medal in 20 all-time Olympic appearances.

Curry’s four three-pointers in the final two minutes of the game sealed the win for Team USA with only 1:19 remaining. The team’s impressive 50% shooting from beyond the arc (18-for-36) proved to be the decisive factor, as France managed only 30% (9-for-30) from three-point range.

Kevin Durant Makes History

This victory marks a significant milestone for Kevin Durant, who becomes the most awarded gold medalist in Olympic basketball history. Durant, along with Devin Booker, scored 15 points for Team USA. Lebron James also made his mark, scoring 14 points to take his total gold medal count to three and bronze to one.

French Players Shine

According to Yahoo Sports, Victor Wembanyama led the French team with a game-high 26 points and seven rebounds. Guerschon Yabusele scored 20 points, while Nando De Colo added 12. Nicolas Batum grabbed eight rebounds for France.

French Team’s History with USA

This marks the second consecutive loss for Team France against the USA, following their 87-82 defeat three years ago in Tokyo. Despite their valiant effort, the French team could not overcome the American squad’s exceptional shooting and late-game heroics.

With this victory, the USA men’s basketball team continues to dominate the Olympic stage, solidifying their position as a powerhouse in international basketball.
