Police Urge Women to Control Emotions in Domestic Issues

In a recent viral video, a woman was seen tearing her husband’s international passport upon arrival. The incident has sparked widespread attention, with many calling out the woman’s actions. However, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, has urged women to take a different approach.

In a post on her official social media handle, Adeh emphasized the importance of controlling emotions when dealing with domestic issues. According to her, regardless of the husband’s offense, destroying the passport is not a viable solution.

Adeh’s statement comes after a video of the incident was shared by a Nigerian, Chude Nnamdi, on his social media handle. The video shows the woman tearing the passport, with Nnamdi captioning it, "This lady destroyed her husband’s international passport on their arrival. Omo."

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer condemned the woman’s actions, stating that destroying the passport will not change the husband’s behavior or encourage him to reconsider. Instead, Adeh urged women to learn to control their emotions and seek alternative solutions to resolve domestic issues.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of emotional intelligence and effective communication in relationships. Adeh’s message aims to promote a culture of peaceful resolution and respect in domestic relationships.
