T.I. and Tiny’s 2001 Sexual Assault Case Dropped, for Now
In a recent development, a lawsuit filed by Jane Doe against rapper T.I. and his wife, Tiny, has been dismissed. The lawsuit, which dates back to 2001, accused the couple of sexual assault, battery, negligence, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
According to the lawsuit, Jane Doe, a member of the U.S. Air Force, met the couple at a nightclub in Los Angeles in 2005. She was handed a drink by Tiny, and shortly after, was taken to a nearby hotel where Tiny removed her clothing, got undressed herself, and was joined by a nude T.I. The plaintiff claimed that she was then directed to take a shower, during which T.I. and Tiny entered the shower with her. She described feeling extremely shocked and uncomfortable, and later reported feeling "extremely dizzy and lightheaded" and "visibly drugged" after being told to get into bed by T.I.
T.I. and Tiny have denied the allegations, stating that the claims have changed over time and that they are innocent. In a statement, they said, "the claims in this story have changed time and time again." They have also emphasized their innocence, maintaining that they did not engage in any inappropriate behavior.
The lawsuit was filed under California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act, which allows civil suits in cases of sexual assault that have gone past the statute of limitations. The law also allows for suits to be filed through the end of 2023.
The motion to dismiss was filed in June, and Jane Doe has a week-long window to file an amended complaint. If she does not file, the case will be dismissed without prejudice.
In unrelated news, T.I. was recently arrested at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after being mistaken for another person with the same name. The incident has sparked controversy, with some questioning the police’s actions.
It remains to be seen what will happen next in this case, but for now, the lawsuit against T.I. and Tiny has been dismissed.
