Georgia Dominates Preseason AP Top 25, Leads College Football Rankings

Georgia Dominates Preseason AP Top 25 Poll

The University of Georgia has taken the top spot in the preseason AP Top 25 poll, marking a significant achievement for the college football team. This comes after the Bulldogs were picked as the number one team in the coaches poll just a week prior. Georgia received 46 first-place votes, solidifying its position ahead of Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, and Alabama.

The Buckeyes received 15 first-place votes, while Oregon got one. Interestingly, no other team received a first-place vote. The top 11 teams in both polls are identical, with the same 25 teams making the cut. The first difference in rankings appears at number 12, where Utah is ranked in the AP poll, while LSU is ranked in the coaches poll.

The SEC dominates the top 25, with nine teams making the cut, while the Big Ten has six teams. The Big 12 and ACC also have a strong presence, with five and three teams, respectively. Notably, Notre Dame and Florida State are the only two teams in the top 10 that aren’t part of the Big Ten or SEC.

The preseason AP Top 25 poll is a significant indicator of the teams’ performance heading into the 2024 season. With Georgia taking the top spot, the team is expected to have a strong season. However, it remains to be seen how the team will perform on the field.
