Rising Rapper EST Lu Mike Reportedly Killed in Louisville

A young and upcoming rapper has lost his life in a senseless act of violence. EST Lu Mike, an artist and friend of EST Gee, was reportedly killed in a shooting incident on Sunday night in Louisville, Kentucky. He was just 22 years old.

According to reports, officers responded to a shooting on the 900 block of Baxter Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Upon arrival, they found several men with gunshot wounds, with one being pronounced dead at the scene and another passing away at a local hospital. Another man was hospitalized and is expected to recover.

EST Lu Mike was a close friend and artist of EST Gee, who has been vocal about the dangers of gang life and gun violence in the past. Just two weeks ago, EST Gee’s manager, EST Big Beach, was killed in a separate shooting incident in Louisville.

EST Gee has also been targeted by violence in the past. In 2019, he was shot five times while driving home from a video shoot. In a 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, the rapper discussed the tragedy of death, noting that regular people are often targeted every day without receiving the same level of attention and outrage as celebrities.

“This sht don’t be on Instagram. Is it still sad? The sht ain’t [perceived as] sad, it’s only sad when it’s a rapper,” EST Gee said.

The latest killing comes as a shock to fans and friends of the young rapper, who had been making waves in the music scene with his unique style and lyrics.
