Traffic Diversion Alert: Lagos State Government Warns Motorists

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion plan at Ikeja Along bus stop, between Ile Zik and Conoil Petrol Station, on the Oshodi bound lane. The diversion will take place from Saturday to Sunday, between the hours of 12 midnight and 4.00 a.m. daily.

The Commissioner revealed that the diversion is necessary to enable the demolition of the old pedestrian bridge by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA). During this period, only one lane will be available to motorists on the Oshodi bound side of the road, to ensure safety.

According to Osiyemi, the traffic diversion will not affect motorists on the Dopemu/Abule Egba bound side of the road. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be on ground to manage vehicular movement and minimize inconveniences.

To ensure the safety of motorists and commuters, the lanes will be cordoned off with jersey barriers and protective nets during the period. The Commissioner has called on the motoring public to cooperate with the authorities during this time.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and exercise caution while navigating the affected areas.
