Ola Electric Unveils Roadster Series of Electric Two-Wheelers in India

Indian electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric has launched its latest range of electric two-wheelers, the Roadster series, in India. The event, held at the company’s new FutureFactory in Tamil Nadu, saw the debut of three new electric vehicles (EV) bikes: Roadster Pro, Roadster X, and Roadster.

The Roadster Pro is Ola Electric’s top-end bike, featuring a premium performance-centric design at a price of Rs. 2 lakh. The entry-level option, Roadster X, starts at Rs. 74,999, with the middle-child, Roadster, priced between the two. All three models are available in multiple battery pack options.

The Roadster Pro boasts a claimed top speed of 194 kmph and a range of up to 579 km on a single charge with the 16kWh battery pack. It is powered by a liquid-cooled motor producing 52kW peak power and 102nm of torque, with a 0-40kmph time of 1.2 seconds. The bike features advanced driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, a 10-inch touchscreen display, 5G connectivity, and dual-disc brakes.

The Roadster X, the entry-level option, gets LED headlamps, a 4-3-inch TFT display, front disc brakes, and turn-by-turn navigational capabilities. It has a claimed range of up to 200 km and a top speed of 124 kmph.

The Roadster, the middle-child, builds upon the features of the Roadster X, adding a larger 6.8-inch TFT display, double-spoke alloy wheels, and a Krutrim voice assistant. It comes with an IP67-rated battery, a maximum claimed range of 248 km, and a top speed of 126 kmph.

The Ola Electric Roadster series will compete against entry-level bikes such as the Tork Kratos R and Revolt RV400, as well as high-performance motorcycles like the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 and Matter Aera.

Pre-bookings for the Roadster X and Roadster have already begun, with deliveries expected to start in January 2025. The Roadster Pro will have its deliveries commence by Diwali 2025.
