FRSC Appoints New Principal Staff Officer
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the appointment of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Meshach Jatau as its new Principal Staff Officer (PSO). The appointment was approved by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, as part of his strategic initiative to reposition the corps for greater performance.
According to a statement by the Corps Public Education and Strategic Communications Officer, Mr Olusegun Ogungbemide, Jatau’s appointment is aimed at bringing his wealth of experience to foster a renewed sense of optimism in the corps. Prior to his appointment, Jatau served as the Zonal Commanding Officer, RS4HQ Jos.
Jatau takes over from Deputy Corps Marshal Chidiebere Nkwonta, who has been elevated and redeployed to oversee the affairs of the Training Department of the corps. The new PSO holds a master’s Degree in Literature in English from the University of Jos and is a fellow of the Army War College Nigeria, FWC, and an alumnus of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA.
In addition to his academic credentials, Jatau has attended several courses, including training in speech writing, International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL), Automobile, and Environmental Safety Policy. His appointment is expected to bring a fresh perspective to the FRSC, and he is tasked with bringing his experience to bear in fostering a renewed sense of optimism in the corps.
With this appointment, the FRSC is poised to continue its efforts to improve road safety in Nigeria and beyond.
