Tank Sparks Debate with Stephen A. Smith, Claims Chris Brown is Better than Michael Jackson
In a recent episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, R&B singer Tank joined the sports broadcaster for a friendly debate, sparking controversy with his assertion that Chris Brown is better than Michael Jackson.
During the clip uploaded on August 15, Tank boldly claimed that Chris Brown is, in fact, better than the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Smith, taken aback by the statement, questioned Tank’s understanding of the claim, saying, “Tank! Do you understand what you’re saying, my man? You’re admired, you’re revered, you’re associated with music my brother. Everybody loves and respects you.”
Tank’s argument centered around the idea that Chris Brown has more gifts than Michael Jackson, citing the singer’s ability to perform, dance, write, produce, and act. He also compared Chris Brown to LeBron James, saying that just as James is the ultimate evolution of a man who can play all five positions, Chris Brown is the evolution of Michael Jackson.
Smith, however, disagreed, saying, “When I saw Chris Brown perform, he’s the best in the world now. The best in the world. One of one. I’m just challenging the next level. Like, I didn’t know there was a next level after Michael Jackson.”
This is not the first time Tank has made the comparison, and he has been vocal about his opinion on social media. In June 2022, the debate was sparked by Former NFL star Ryan Clark on social media, with Tank stating, “I’ve been the only one saying this and I’ve felt alone for so long. Welcome to the fold! Singer, Dancer, writer, producer, actor, painter, clothing designer, gymnast, ninja, etc!!! [shrug emoji] MJ is the greatest but CB has more gifts is all we’re saying…[praying hands emoji].”
