Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola: No Immediate Motivation to Win Premier League Title

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that he is not driven by a desire to win the Premier League title right now. Despite having won the league’s top honor four times in a row, and aiming for his seventh title in eight years, Guardiola is instead focusing on their upcoming league opener against Chelsea.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss stated, “When we arrive in the last month and we are close to winning another Premier League, then that will be the motivation. But now? For me, the motivation to win another Premier League is not there… for me, it will be in the last month. Now, it’s: ‘Can we beat Chelsea?'”.

Guardiola’s comments come on the back of Manchester City’s success in their league opener against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which will take center stage in the coming days. The Catalan manager is known for his meticulous approach to the game, and it seems that he is more focused on the immediate challenge ahead than on planning for the longer-term goal of winning the league title.

In fact, Manchester City have already begun their season with a bang, capturing their first piece of silverware this campaign with a penalty shootout win over rivals Manchester United in the Community Shield.

As Guardiola looks ahead to the season, he seems determined to take things one step at a time, with his immediate focus fixed firmly on the next game. Whether or not this approach pays off remains to be seen, but one thing is certain – Manchester City will be looking to dominate the Premier League once again.
