Samsung Galaxy S Series to Get Major Name Change?

In a surprise move, Samsung may be considering renaming two models in its Galaxy S series of smartphones, starting with its 2026 lineup. According to a tipster, Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), the South Korean tech giant could replace the “Plus” model with “Pro” and the “Ultra” model with “Note”. This suggests that the company may be looking to simplify its high-end smartphone lineup.

Brar, who is known for his reliable insider information, shared the news on social media platform X, stating that the names of the rumoured Galaxy S25 series have already been decided by Samsung. This means that we may see a significant change in the naming convention of the Galaxy S series with the introduction of the 2026 models.

The proposed renaming scheme would see the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Pro, and Galaxy S26 Note models introduced next year. This change would not affect the standard Galaxy S26 model, which would retain its current name.

It’s worth noting that this is just a rumour and the exact details are still unknown. The rumored Galaxy S26 series of smartphones isn’t expected to debut until early 2026, and we will have to wait for an official announcement from Samsung to confirm these claims.

In the coming months, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 lineup, which is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip from Qualcomm or Samsung’s Exynos 2500 SoC, according to recent reports.
