Instagram Launches Profile Songs: A New Way to Customize Your Profile

In a move that’s sure to delight music lovers and profile enthusiasts alike, Instagram is now allowing users to add a song to their profile. This feature, launched in collaboration with pop star Sabrina Carpenter, allows you to customize your page with a personal touch.

As Carpenter’s debut profile song, her new single “Taste” will be showcased below your Instagram bio on your profile. This is just the latest update in a series of recent changes by Meta-owned Instagram, following the expansion of the carousel limit from 10 to 20 photos, similar to Facebook albums, and potential changes to the grid format from squares to rectangles.

Profile songs are just one of the ways to incorporate music into your profile. Last year, Instagram introduced the option to add a song snippet to Notes, and collaborated with Carpenter’s fellow Disney star-turned-pop star Olivia Rodrigo to add songs to grid posts.

But that’s not all. Instagram is also partnering with Carpenter to promote her forthcoming album, Short n’ Sweet, with an Easter egg that will turn your Notes baby blue if you mention related words or popular songs. This is a similar move to the partnership with Taylor Swift, who released her album The Tortured Poets Department.

With this new feature, you can now express yourself even more through music and make your profile truly unique. So, what song will you choose to represent yourself on Instagram?
