A$AP Rocky and Rihanna Open Up About Balancing Parenting and Busy Careers
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna have never been shy about their admiration for each other, and a new interview from the Harlem rapper is no exception. In the August issue of Billboard, Rocky opened up about how he and the FENTY brand mogul maintain their parenting responsibilities alongside their busy careers and bouncing boys.
The couple currently shares two sons, 2-year-old RZA Athelston Mayers, and 1-year-old Riot Rose Mayers. Rihanna has publicly expressed her desire to have more children in the future, including a daughter.
Rocky explained that finding balance between his chaotic schedule and his family life is a challenge, but one they’re committed to overcoming. “It’s crazy how we find balance with our chaotic schedules,” he said. “But I don’t think there’s a more perfect person because when the schedules are hectic, she’s very understanding of that. And when the schedule’s freed up, that’s when you get to spend [the] most time together. It’s all understanding and compatibility.”
The bond between the family was recently showcased when RZA starred alongside his father in an advertisement for Savage X Fenty last month. In the full story, Rocky also dishes on his beef with Drake, his creative inspiration, and his upcoming album “Don’t Be Dumb.”
When asked about what sets him apart as an artist, Rocky reflected on the importance of self-awareness. “You got to know yourself,” he explained. “You got to know, ‘OK, this is too much. This is too far. This is overkill. This is not enough.’ That’s what I think makes you a unique artist: when you could determine what’s needed. And what’s unnecessary.”
