Vice President Issues Warning on Regional Security Threats in Nigeria
Vice President Kashim Shettima addressed the graduation ceremony of Course 32 at the Nigerian Defence College Abuja, calling on the Nigerian Armed Forces to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing regional security threats.
The Vice President delivered the charge while representing Nigeria’s President, Tinubu, at the highly anticipated ceremony. In his statement, Shettima emphasized the importance of prioritizing the nation’s safety and economic well-being, with a key focus on attracting foreign investment and sustaining economic prosperity.
Noting that Nigeria faces numerous security challenges, the VP stressed the need for strategic leadership to guide the country towards stability. He reaffirmed the Federal government’s commitment to embracing the recommendations put forward by graduating participants, highlighting the significance of implementation in overcoming security hurdles.
Some 111 individuals, including 19 foreign participants, took part in Course 32 of the Nigerian Defence College. In a direct address, the Vice President implored those who completed the course to consistently uphold the values of patriotism.
Shettima further promised that his administration will endeavor to complete the ongoing development project at the national centre of the Defence College.
The graduated participants have demonstrated their mettle, equipping them to contribute significantly to the nation’s security landscape. Their involvement in driving strategic policy changes will undoubtedly amplify the impact of Nigeria’s security efforts worldwide.
