Cardi B Ditches Atlanta for New York: Why the Rapper Doesn’t Like the City
American rapper Cardi B has revealed her true feelings about living in Atlanta, Georgia, saying she hated her experience in the city and is now making moves in New York. The 31-year-old, who has ties to the south, explained her reasons for leaving Atlanta during an Instagram Live session.
According to Cardi B, she will be visiting New York more frequently, having meetings with her label twice a week, and trying to secure an office in the city. She also shared that she only visits Atlanta three or four times a year, staying for a week or less, and that she tried living in the city for six months in 2018, but hated it.
“I don’t have one friend in Atlanta, and I don’t have not even one family member in Atlanta,” Cardi B said. “So I just don’t like Atlanta.”
Fans had previously speculated that Cardi B’s move to New York was due to her pending divorce from rapper Offset, but she shut down these rumors by revealing that she and Offset are still together. The couple also denied rumors that their home in Atlanta was facing foreclosure, with Cardi B saying, “Check the Atlanta market. And no, we not selling it… and if I ever sold it I would just sell my part to Offset since he loves Atlanta.”
Cardi B has recently revealed that she is pregnant with her third child, joining her daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2. As her family grows, the Bardi Gang is eagerly awaiting a sophomore album from their queen, which is rumored to be released before the year ends.
Despite the controversy surrounding her personal life, Cardi B remains a beloved figure in the music industry, and her decision to leave Atlanta for New York has sparked interest among fans and music enthusiasts alike.
