Lucy Abagi Appointed CEO of Public and Private Development Centre

The Board of Directors of the Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC), a non-governmental organization (NGO), has announced the appointment of Lucy Abagi as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The announcement was made by the chairman of the board, Chibuzor Ekwekwo, in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja.

Abagi, who has extensive experience in public policy development, program management, and fundraising, succeeds Jubril Shittu, a development professional and seasoned humanitarian, whose tenure was marked with remarkable achievements. Prior to joining PPDC, Abagi served as Director of Programs at Connected Development (CODE), where she led the renowned Follow the Money campaign, securing funding for social impact initiatives across nine African countries. She successfully led the organisation’s business development, innovation hub, and technology teams as Director of Partnerships and Innovation.

According to Ekwekwo, Abagi brings a strategic approach to partnerships and a passion for innovative solutions that have been instrumental in expanding PPDC’s impact across Nigeria and in its new effort to re-establish its footprints in the African Continent. Her work positively impacted the lives of about four million people in rural communities.

As PPDC’s new CEO, Abagi will focus on empowering citizens through improved access to justice, innovative storytelling, and digital rights advocacy. She will also be expected to build on the foundation laid by her predecessor and drive the organisation towards new heights of impact. PPDC is an NGO committed to improving citizens participation in governance, improving the integrity of public governance processes, and fostering transparent and accountable governance.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that PPDC was founded to improve citizens participation in governance, improve the integrity of public governance processes, and foster transparent and accountable governance.
