DaBaby Drops New Track Amidst Lawsuit with Brandon Bills

DaBaby has been busy in the studio, releasing a new track called “Lawsuit on a Wednesday”. The timing couldn’t be more ironic, as fans are left speculating about the intended target of the song – many think it’s Brandon Bills, the brother of DaBaby’s romantic partner DaniLeigh.

The song’s chorus is particularly noteworthy, with DaBaby rapping “He was gangsta before, now you suin’ me, huh? / That tough s*, he don’t wanna do it no more / Out the spot, ain’t want nothin’ to do wit’ the whe.” This comes as a follow-up to VIBE’s previous report on the $4 million lawsuit Bills filed against DaBaby, stemming from a physical altercation in 2022.

For those who may not be familiar, DaBaby is the father of Bills’ sister, DaniLeigh. The two’s beef began after an Instagram live session where DaBaby had DaniLeigh arrested and thrown out of his home on allegations of domestic violence. Following the incident, Bills told TMZ that he was going to “knock DaBaby out,” adding, “I’m not these rappers, I really got hands.”

A short visual to the song features DaBaby riding around a city in a vehicle as the song plays out. If the song is about Bills, the rapper addresses consequences to calling him out in the following verse, “Bark like a big dog, but he really a puppy / Your Honor, I’m scared of this man, look at him.”

Marc Griffin at VIBE reports that Bills’ suit states he is owed $2 million in general damages and an additional $2 million for special damages after DaBaby attacked him for “no reason”, resulting in “severe injuries, psychological damage, and medical bills”. The track is exclusively available on YouTube, where fans can watch it now.

With this new development, the drama between DaBaby and Brandon Bills continues to unfold. Will we see more fireworks in the coming days? Only time will tell.
