BREAKING: Veteran Nollywood Actress Sharon Okpamen Dies After Giving Birth

I’m reporting live from the entertainment desk at Media Talk Africa, and we have devastating news for fans of Nollywood actress Sharon Okpamen. According to a post by her colleague and movie producer, Stanley Ontop, on his Instagram account, Sharon Okpamen has passed away.

Okpamen, a renowned actress and producer, was known for her impressive acting skills and humanitarian activities in the Edo entertainment industry. Her death was announced on Saturday, August 24, 2024, but the cause of her passing is yet to be disclosed.

Stanley Ontop’s Instagram post read, “Nollywood Actor and Producer Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on. It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry. Sharon, who was a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur, and humanitarian, has left a significant void in the industry. It can only get better.”

However, in a twist, checks on Okpamen’s official Instagram page revealed that she had given birth to a new baby just three weeks ago. While her husband didn’t make any posts to announce the arrival of the new baby, some fans have speculated that she may have had complications after delivery.

One fan, Prince Selena Small Chop, commented on Ontop’s post, hinting that Okpamen slipped into a coma after childbirth and never made it out alive.

This news has sent shockwaves through the Nollywood community, and fans are mourning the loss of a talented actress who had left a lasting impact on the industry.

I’ll continue to bring you updates on this developing story as more information becomes available.

Rest in peace, Sharon Okpamen.
