Keegan Bradley Wins BMW Championship, Secures Spot in Tour Championship

In a stunning turn of events, Keegan Bradley emerged victorious at the BMW Championship in Colorado, claiming his first win of the season and catapulting himself up the FedEx Cup standings. The American golfer, who was ranked 50th in the standings just a week ago, held on to win by a single shot, moving up an incredible 46 spots in the process.

Bradley’s win marked his first victory of the season, and it came at the perfect time, as he secured a spot in the 30-man field at the Tour Championship next week. The win also propelled him to No. 4 in the FedEx Cup standings, and he will jump to No. 11 in the world rankings.

The 38-year-old golfer, who is also the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, credited his calm demeanor for his success this week. “I’m in a bit of a state of shock because there was a time a week ago about this time that I didn’t think I was going to be coming here,” he said. “I had to have a lot of magical things happen for me to just play in this tournament, and when I got here, I was so grateful just to be here. I played with a real sense of calm all week, which is not the norm for me.”

Bradley’s win was not without its challenges, as he faced stiff competition from the likes of Adam Scott and Ludvig Åberg. However, he managed to hold on, making a crucial birdie at the 17th hole to push his lead back to two shots.

The win marked Bradley’s seventh on the PGA Tour, and it capped off an impressive comeback from a week ago, when he was nearly out of the running. “When I showed up here this week, honestly I didn’t think I’d be going to Atlanta,” he said. “Scottie, my caddie, asked me if I wanted to know where I need to finish, and I said no. I still don’t know. But I knew it had to be really high.”

Bradley will now head to the Tour Championship, where he will start at 6-under par, giving him a real shot at claiming the FedEx Cup. The tournament will be played at East Lake in Atlanta, and Bradley is feeling confident about his chances. “Playing this week — last week I was looking at the leaderboard the whole time, and this week that was never on my mind. I was just trying to win the tournament. Maybe I can [win next week]. I’m playing great. I feel very lucky to be in Atlanta. To make the Tour Championship two years in a row is a big deal.”
