Tinubu on Track to Becoming Worst Nigerian President

Nigeria’s Political Future Uncertain as Ex-APC Vice Chairman Warns of Deteriorating Governance

In a statement that has sent shockwaves through Nigeria’s political landscape, former National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has warned that President Bola Tinubu is on track to becoming worse than his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.

Lukman, who served as APC Vice Chairman for the North-West region, lamented that governance in Nigeria is currently deteriorating under Tinubu’s administration. He also expressed concern that the same fate may befall the next president, whoever emerges in 2027.

According to Lukman, “If APC is defeated in 2027, what is the guarantee that the new government to emerge post President Asiwaju Tinubu will not be worse?” He noted that Nigerians have witnessed governments at all levels progressively becoming worse, citing the example of Buhari’s administration, which he argued failed to meet public expectations, possibly worse than that of Goodluck Jonathan.

Lukman’s statement has sparked concerns about the future of Nigeria’s political landscape, with many wondering if the country is heading towards a cycle of worsening governance. His warning comes as Tinubu’s administration faces criticism for its handling of various issues, including economic challenges, security concerns, and corruption.

The ex-APC Vice Chairman’s statement has also raised questions about the leadership abilities of Tinubu, who was elected as Nigeria’s president in 2023. Lukman’s words have been met with mixed reactions, with some critics accusing him of being too harsh while others have expressed concern about the state of Nigeria’s politics.

As the country looks towards the 2027 elections, Lukman’s warning serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and effective governance. The question remains: will Nigeria’s political leaders heed the warning and work towards a brighter future, or will the country continue to deteriorate?
