APGA Chairman Rejects Governor’s Imposition Bid, Warns of Party’s Fortune in Anambra Elections
Edozie Njoku, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has warned Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State against attempting to impose himself on the party. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Njoku stated that the party is supreme and that Soludo must "stoop to conquer."
According to Njoku, the important thing is doing the right thing at all times and not thinking one can impose oneself on the party. He also dismissed rumors that he planned to scuttle Soludo’s second term ambition in 2025.
The rift between Njoku and Soludo might affect the party’s fortunes in next year’s governorship election in Anambra State, Njoku warned. However, he clarified that he doesn’t have any grudge against the governor, describing Soludo as someone he can toss around.
Njoku further stated that Soludo is looking for an SA who is willing to install him, but APGA has said it will not happen, emphasizing that the party must have good executives.
The APGA is currently embroiled in a leadership crisis, with both Sylvester Ezeokenwa and Njoku claiming to be the rightful Chairman. Ezeokenwa was elected as APGA Chairman in May 2023, while Njoku was recognized as the national chair by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in July 2024, citing a court order.
