Senegalese Foreign Minister Yacine Fall Meets with Russian Counterpart Sergey Lavrov

Senegalese Foreign Minister Yacine Fall met with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Thursday, August 29. The bilateral meeting focused on several key issues, including education, investments, and energy.

In addition to these pressing topics, the dire security situation in the Sahel region was also discussed. During a joint press conference, Lavrov reiterated Russia’s readiness to provide military support to Senegal and other African countries.

"We are ready to assist Senegal and other African countries in strengthening the defence capabilities and improving the anti-terrorist readiness of their armed forces and special task services," Lavrov emphasized.

Senegalese Foreign Minister Yacine Fall, meanwhile, called for mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of mineral fertilizers and exchange of technologies. This cooperation is expected to have a positive impact on the economies of both countries.

A Russia-Senegal business forum is set to take place in October, further cementing the ties between the two nations. This forum will provide a platform for business leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss potential partnerships and investments.
