Veteran Singer Onyeka Onwenu to be Laid to Rest in Lagos
The music world is in mourning as the news of the passing of late veteran singer, Onyeka Onwenu, popularly known as Elegant Stallion, spreads like wildfire. According to reports, Onwenu slumped and died on July 30 at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, after performing at the birthday party of Dr Stella Okoli, the Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
The funeral service, as announced by the family, will take place at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi. A funeral flyer has also been circulated, stating that the Service of Songs is scheduled for 10-12 noon, while the burial is from 2pm-4pm.
Onwenu, a renowned singer and music icon, left an indelible mark on the music industry with her unique style and talent. Her passing has sent shockwaves across the nation, with tributes pouring in from fans and fellow artists alike.
