Zamfara State Embarks on Major Road Construction Project to Enhance Connectivity and Economic Growth
The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the transportation system in the state by linking towns and villages with access roads. The governor made this announcement during the flag-off ceremony of the construction of 11.65-kilometer-long roads in the towns of Rawayya, Furfuri, and Kurya-Madaro in Bungudu and Kaura-Namoda local government areas.
The ₦6.6 billion project, awarded to Bauhaus Global Investment Nigeria Limited, aims to address critical infrastructure gaps, enhance connectivity, and support economic growth in the local communities. The construction of the 11.65-kilometer roads is expected to link towns and villages with the two local government areas, significantly improving the lives of residents.
During the flag-off ceremony, the Zamfara State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engineer Ahmad Yandi, highlighted the severe impact of the state’s infrastructure deficit on development, agriculture, and local businesses. The governor emphasized that the road construction is part of his administration’s broader agenda to improve transportation, boost local economies, and address security challenges.
The governor reassured residents of his commitment to sustainable development and economic advancement. The project is expected to be fully completed within 12 months, bringing much-needed infrastructure development to the region.
