Big Sean’s Highly Anticipated Album "Better Me Than You" Finally Out Now
American rapper Big Sean has finally released his highly anticipated album "Better Me Than You", accompanied by the official music video for the single "Who You Are (Superstar)". The video features cameos from Taye Diggs, RDC World, Jazz Cartier, Amine, and others, all playing phone operators who specialize in smooth-talking women.
The video opens with a commercial encouraging viewers to call 1-800-SUP-STRR and speak with one of their trained professionals. Diggs, in his cameo, says, "Let me tell you, we can help you be all who you think you can be."
"Who You Are (Superstar)" is an extra special cut from the LP, as it contains a sample of Usher’s classic hit "Superstar". Big Sean takes inspiration from the subject matter of the OG song, rapping about having eyes for only that one special person.
The rapper also revealed that Ush himself approved of the record, saying "I just want to say, when I played this for the artist who I sampled, he was like, ‘F**k!’" during a live interview with Carl Lamarre in NYC earlier this week.
The album boasts a roster of impressive features from names like Charlie Wilson, Gunna, Eryn Allen Kane, Syd, Thundercat, Bryson Tiller, Kodak Black, Teyana Taylor, Larry June, Cash Cobain, DJ Premier, and more across 21 total tracks.
Although Big Sean seems to be in great spirits now that the album is out, the journey to unleash the project has not been easy. Earlier this month, the father of one took to Instagram Live to update fans on why the album has been pushed back multiple times, opening up about his doubts and recent COVID diagnosis.
Big Sean expressed his struggles, saying, "I’ve been having a hard time lately, straight up. It has not been easy." He continued, "You make art, you put your heart into this sh*t… When I had COVID last week, I was down and I was still working on the album."
Despite the challenges, Big Sean made it to the finish line, and "Better Me Than You" is officially out today. Fans can check out the album below and watch the new video above.
