NIGERIA: New Police Commissioner Lands in Sokoto, Pledging Enhanced Security Measures
As authorities in Sokoto State await the arrival of new officials, including the newly sworn-in Ambassador, the state has received new leadership in the shape of Police Commissioner Ahmed Musa, who assumes duty as the 48th Commissioner in a ceremony held last week Friday.
Commissioner Musa takes over the reins of operations from his predecessor, CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama, who has retired from active policing. According to a statement made available on Friday by the command’s public relations specialist, ASP Ahmed Rufai, MP Musa was drawn from from Mubi North Local Government Areas of Adamawa States.
A testament to his dedication, Mr. Muhammad began his career at the Nigerian Defense Academy in June 1974, where he obtained his badge as an ASP cadets. He was subsequently appointed to the KP Command as ASP probation. And since then, Mr. Muslim has made significant advancements in the command, serving in various duties such as administration, operations, and investigations between others.
Commissioner Musa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History for the University of Maiduguri And has served in various leadership positions.
When asked about the reasons for retiring from active police work., CP Musa was quick at the door, saying in his own words, “That his primary goal is to contribute to providing a safe haven for the populace of Sokoto”.
