Nigerian Politics: PDP Appoints Caretaker Committee for Ekiti State

In a recent development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the appointment of a caretaker committee to oversee the party’s activities in Ekiti State. The committee is responsible for managing the affairs of the Ekiti State Chapter for a period of 90 days or until a new Executive Committee is elected.

The caretaker committee will be headed by Chief Dare Adeleke, while Olatunji Ayofe has been appointed as the secretary. A total of 20 members have been chosen for the committee, which includes notable politicians and stakeholders in the state.

The announcement was made by PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba in a statement released on Friday. According to the statement, the committee’s composition is in line with the party’s constitution, which authorizes the National Working Committee to establish caretaker committees in states with expired executive committees.

The 20-member committee includes Hon. Ayodele Joshua, Agbetuyi Sunday Joshua, Hon. Olonila Ojo Benjamin, Mojisola Omotosho, Hon. Ojo Ayeni, Rt. Hon. Abeni Olayinka, Hon. Ademola Alade, and many others.

Asabo Ayodeji Victor has been appointed the administrative secretary of the committee. The statement calls on all leaders, critical stakeholders, and dedicated members of the party in Ekiti State to remain united and work together for the party’s progress.

The appointment of the caretaker committee comes at a crucial time, as the PDP seeks to consolidate its strength and prepare for future challenges. The party’s leadership has stressed the importance of unity and cooperation among members to achieve its goals.
