Kano State Governor Flags Off 5km Road Project, Urges Contractor to Mobilize
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has flagged off the construction of a 5-kilometre road project in Kunchi town, Ghari Local Government Area, as part of ongoing efforts to implement the state’s road development plans. The project, initiated during the second tenure of Rabi’u Kwankwaso, was abandoned by the immediate past administration of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Saturday, the governor urged the contractor handling the project to mobilize to the site within a week, warning that failure to do so would compel the government to terminate the contract.
"I’m calling on the contractor to mobilise to the site in the next week. Failure to do so will compel the state government to revoke the CV contract," the governor was quoted as saying.
The governor expressed appreciation to the people of the area for their patience, support, and cooperation and instructed the contractor to mobilize to the site within one week fully. Before flagging off the project, Yusuf, accompanied by his deputy, Aminu Gwarzo, and other members of the State Executive Council, commissioned a township road in Yandadi town.
The governor and his entourage also visited Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies, Ghari, where he assured the public of the state government’s readiness to provide all necessary infrastructure to ensure academic activities continue without interruption.
