New Emir Appointed in Bauchi State

The governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has appointed Haruna Danyaya as the new emir of Ningi. This decision was made public in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Mukhtar Gidado, on Sunday.

According to the statement, Mr. Danyaya, the eldest son of the late emir, was appointed as the 17th emir of Ningi following the recommendations of the kingmakers. The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister İbrahim Mohammed Kashim.

Mr. Gidado expressed the confidence of the Bauchi State Government in the new emir’s ability to continue the legacy of his late father in fostering unity, peace, and development in the Ningi emirate and Bauchi state as a whole.

The new emir, Danyaya, is the eldest son of the late Emir Yunusa Danyaya and was born in Ningi in 1956. He is the immediate past Chiroman Ningi. The late Emir Yunusa Danyaya passed away on August 24, 2024, after spending 46 years on the throne. He died at the age of 88 and was buried according to Islamic rites.
