Nigerian Air Force Eliminates Terrorist Kingpin and Five Members of His Group
In a significant operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Special Forces have eliminated a known terrorist kingpin, Mustapha Abdullahi, and five members of his group in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The operation was carried out on Sunday, following an intelligence report received on August 31, which indicated that the terrorist kingpin and his group were sighted near Sabon Gida forest along Sabon Birni Road.
According to AVM Edward Gabkwet, the director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF, the special forces were deployed from the 413 Force Protection Group. Gabkwet stated that the deployment was in response to the intelligence report, which revealed the terrorist group’s intent to kidnap, harm, or kill innocent civilians.
When the special forces made contact with the terrorists, who were on motorcycles, the terrorists immediately opened fire. However, they were met with superior firepower by the troops, leading to the elimination of all the terrorists.
The troops recovered five Dane guns, a locally fabricated sub-machine gun, and live ammunition, as well as assorted charms, lighters, sim cards, and cell phone cases. The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the troops to rid Igabi, Birnin Gwari, and environs of criminals and their activities.
Gabkwet commended the troops for their bravery and urged them to intensify their efforts to safeguard lives and property. The operation is a significant blow to terrorist activities in the region and demonstrates the NAF’s commitment to protecting innocent civilians.
