Real Madrid Boss Ancelotti Praises Vinicius Junior’s Unselfishness in LaLiga Win
Real Madrid manager Carlos Ancelotti has lavished praise on Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior after the 22-year-old’s selfless play helped his team secure a 2-0 win over Real Betis in the LaLiga on Sunday night.
Vinicius Junior, who is Real Madrid’s designated penalty taker, gave teammate Kylian Mbappe the opportunity to score from the spot, which the French forward converted to seal the victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ancelotti praised Vinicius Junior’s unselfishness, saying: "He [Mbappe] has never been put under pressure to score goals. He had a good game, like everyone else, and was very good in the box. Everyone worked well and Vini Jr. got the penalty for him. He was very unselfish and both of them, along with Rodrygo, have a good relationship."
The win marked a significant improvement for Real Madrid, who had struggled in their previous match. Ancelotti emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating: "Scoring is important for Mbappé, but we assess the team’s work as a whole, which was better than in the last game."
The victory extends Real Madrid’s unbeaten run in the LaLiga to four matches, and they will look to build on this momentum as they face off against other top teams in the league.
