Nigeria Pledges to Host 2025 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant if Newly-Crowned Winner Hails from the Country
The Chairman of the Silverbird Group, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has made a bold declaration that Nigeria will host the 2025 Miss Universe beauty pageant if the newly-crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, wins this year’s edition. This promise comes after Adetshina recently won the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, following her resignation from the Miss South Africa beauty contest over nationality concerns.
In a statement issued via his social media handle on Tuesday, Senator Bruce vowed that his company, Silverbird Group, will do everything in their power to ensure Nigeria hosts the global beauty pageant next year. He promised that the challenges faced during their attempt to host Miss World in Nigeria in 2002 would never repeat themselves. "We’ve learned from the past – those who remember our attempt to host Miss World in Nigeria in 2002 know the challenges we faced," Bruce wrote. "But let me make this clear: what happened then will not repeat itself. Nigeria is set to reclaim its rightful place on the global stage, and there isn’t a force on earth that can stand in our way."
Senator Bruce’s bold declaration is a testament to Nigeria’s growing ambition to reclaim its place on the global stage. With Chidimma Adetshina’s win, the country may just have the perfect opportunity to make this a reality. As the Miss Universe 2022 winner, Adetshina will now represent Nigeria on the international stage, and it remains to be seen whether she will be crowned the winner. If so, Nigeria will be well on its way to hosting the 2025 Miss Universe beauty pageant.
