Saudi Arabia to Host Global AI Summit, Promoting Economic Diversification and Sustainable Development

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to host the third edition of the Global Artificial Intelligent (AI) Summit, GAIN, from September 10 to 12, 2024, in Riyadh. The event aims to promote economic diversification and explore the transformative potential of AI across industries.

The summit, themed “Now, Next, Never,” will bring together over 300 speakers from 100 countries worldwide, including innovators, academics, executives, regulators, and decision-makers. According to Mohammed Alsahabi, the Press Attaché’ of the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Abuja, the summit will foster global collaboration and explore the transformative potential of AI across industries.

Alsahabi emphasized that the summit will discuss the real-world benefits of AI, its future trajectory, and the ethical considerations necessary to ensure responsible AI developments. He highlighted the impressive lineup of global speakers, including Cristiano Amon, President of Qualcomm Incorporated, Nick Studer, President of Oliver Wyman Group, and Dr. Marc Raibert, Chairperson of Boston Dynamics.

Majed Al-Shehri, official spokesperson of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), described the summit as a landmark event in shaping the future of AI. He emphasized the importance of considering the immediate implications, future innovations, and ethical responsibilities that come with the rapid advancement of AI technologies.

The GAIN Summit is poised to be a significant gathering of AI leaders and experts, promoting global collaboration and innovation. With its focus on economic diversification and responsible AI development, the event aims to build a sustainable future for all.
