NNPP Dissolves Executive Committees in Five States, Appoints Caretaker Committees
The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has taken a major step to revitalize its operations in five states, dissolving the executive committees in Taraba, Benue, Oyo, Bauchi, and Gombe. The decision was announced by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ladipo Johnson, in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Johnson, the dissolution is part of the party’s efforts to reposition and revitalize its operations in the affected states. The decision was reached at the end of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) emergency meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.
The dissolved state executive committees will be replaced with caretaker committees, which will be announced in a few days, for a stipulated period of time. Johnson appreciated the members of the dissolved state executives for their service to the party and urged them to be ready to serve in other capacities in the future.
In a separate development, the NWC has evaluated all state executives nationwide and is satisfied that they are legally and morally ready to conduct local government elections in their states. The party has particularly commended the Kano State executive for its high standard of leadership and effectiveness, which has been backed by law.
The NNPP’s decision to dissolve its executive committees in five states is seen as a move to strengthen the party’s internal structures and improve its chances of success in future elections. The party has been working to revitalize its operations and increase its visibility in the country’s political landscape.
The development is likely to have significant implications for the party’s internal dynamics and its ability to contest future elections. As the NNPP looks to reposition itself, it will be interesting to see how the party’s new caretaker committees will operate and how they will impact the party’s overall performance.
