Meta Teams with Telangana on AI-powered E-Governance Initiatives

Meta Partners with Telangana Government to Boost E-Governance and Productivity

Meta, the tech giant, has announced a two-year partnership with the government of Telangana to develop innovative solutions using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The partnership aims to improve the state government’s e-governance portals and administrations, as well as increase the productivity and efficiency of public departments.

The collaboration will leverage Meta’s in-house Llama 3.1 AI model, as well as other open-source models, to develop AI-powered technology solutions. Generative AI will be used to enhance public service delivery, e-governance mechanisms, and productivity and efficiency of government departments and agencies.

According to Meta, this partnership is part of the company’s "open approach to AI innovation", which aims to drive social and economic opportunities in the state. The company did not disclose the details of the solutions being developed, but did mention that it is already using its AI models in customer service, document review, and computer code generation for companies like Goldman Sachs and AT&T.

Additionally, Meta’s AI technology is being used to power its in-house platforms, including a recent report claiming that WhatsApp is getting a two-way voice conversation feature for Meta AI, which will offer a hands-free experience to users.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the adoption of AI technology in government services, and is expected to benefit both the government and the citizens of Telangana.
