Minister of Sports Development’s WhatsApp Number Hacked

Nigerian authorities have announced that the WhatsApp number of the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh, has been hacked. The news was confirmed by the minister’s spokesperson, Diana-Mary Nsan, in a statement released on Monday.

Nsan urged Nigerians to exercise caution and not respond to any messages or messages demanding payment or making requests via the hacked WhatsApp number. She emphasized that any such requests are not genuine and that the situation is being investigated.

According to the statement, "Good day Ladies and Gentlemen," it is of great importance to bring to your notice that the WhatsApp number of the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, has been hacked. "Please, do not respond to any message or messages demanding from you or making requests, as that fellow isn’t the Sports Minister. The situation will be arrested. Do accept our assurances and best regards."

Enoh was appointed as Minister of Sports Development by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of cybersecurity and the need for individuals to be vigilant in protecting their personal and official communication channels.

As authorities work to resolve the issue, it is crucial for Nigerians to remain aware of potential scams and fraud attempts. By being cautious and verifying the authenticity of messages, individuals can protect themselves from falling victim to such schemes.

The hack highlights the need for governments and institutions to prioritize digital security and take measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
