Kendrick Lamar Booked for Super Bowl Halftime Show, Cam’ron Expresses Disagreement
The 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show lineup has sparked controversy, with Cam’ron being the latest public figure to voice his discontent with Kendrick Lamar’s booking. According to Cam, Lil Wayne was the obvious choice for the gig, given that the championship game is taking place in his hometown of New Orleans.
Cam’ron shared his thoughts on his It Is What It Is podcast, stating, “I love Kendrick Lamar, I loved the pop-out, I think he’s one of the top artists of this generation, period. Hate the selection… It’s in New Orleans, and you don’t get Lil Wayne? That’s what we doing… not just Hot Boyz, Cash Money, all the songs Lil Wayne has done, whether it’s Blink 182… there’s no reason why Lil Wayne should not be performing at the Super Bowl.”
The Harlem native also accused “one person of stopping” Lil Wayne from performing at the event, insinuating that Jay-Z was involved. Cam added, “Who’s Lil Wayne’s artist? Drake,” before co-host Ma$e chimed in, “Hating at this age is crazy.”
Cam’ron is not the only one questioning K. Dot’s booking. Master P, the No Limit founder, also suggested that Lil Wayne be involved in some way, tweeting, “Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX… well deserved, he’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now.” He continued, “As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans, I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of this celebration as well. He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant, and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here.”
The controversy surrounding the Super Bowl Halftime Show lineup has sparked a heated debate, with fans divided on the matter. Will Cam’ron’s comments and Master P’s suggestions prompt a change in the lineup, or will Kendrick Lamar take center stage as planned? Only time will tell.
