Flood Devastates Borno State, Nigerian Military Rallies to Assist Affected Communities

In a dire situation, floodwaters have submerged major roads, homes, and shops in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, as well as parts of Jere Local Government Area. The devastating deluge has claimed lives, destroyed property, and displaced thousands of citizens. The Nigerian military has swiftly responded to the crisis, with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, directing the Theatre Commander to provide all necessary assistance to the flood victims.

General Musa expressed sadness over the incident and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, as well as to the government and people of Borno State. In a statement, he assured that the Armed Forces of Nigeria would work closely with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant authorities to provide immediate relief and support to the affected communities.
