Paul Pogba’s Brother Charged in 2022 Extortion

Brother of World Cup Winner Paul Pogba to Stand Trial in Extortion Case

A shocking turn of events has unfolded in the life of French soccer star Paul Pogba, as his brother Mathias Pogba has been ordered to stand trial for his involvement in an extortion case. The trial, which has not been scheduled yet, will take place alongside five other men who allegedly demanded a staggering $14.3 million from the midfielder.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Mathias Pogba will face charges of attempted extortion and criminal conspiracy. The case revolves around a series of threats and intimidation tactics used by the group to extract money from Paul Pogba. The soccer player reportedly paid the group $70,000 during the investigation.

The extortion plot was brought to light in August 2022 when Mathias Pogba posted a video on social media claiming he would share “explosive” revelations about his brother, agent Rafaela Pimenta, and fellow soccer star Kylian Mbappé. The video sparked a brief detention for Mathias Pogba, who has a history of playing soccer at lower-tier teams in Europe.

The charges against the six men are severe, including extortion and attempted extortion using violence, abduction, and confinement to facilitate a crime or misdemeanor, as well as criminal conspiracy. As the trial approaches, Paul Pogba and his family are likely to be under immense scrutiny, hoping for a swift and just resolution to this distressing ordeal.
