In a significant step towards the September 28 Local Government Council chairmen and ward councilors elections in Anambra State, Nigeria, the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) has published the final list of qualified candidates. The commission’s chairperson, Mrs. Genevieve Osakwe, officially unveiled the list at the headquarters in Awka, calling on the candidates to kick off their campaigns.

According to Osakwe, the list is now accessible to the public, and voters are encouraged to visit the ANSIEC headquarters or any of the 21 local government areas to verify the candidates contesting for various positions. She emphasized the importance of public participation, urging the electorate to actively engage in the electoral process by voting for their preferred candidates on election day.

Osakwe also assured Anambra residents that the upcoming elections will be conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner. “We encourage electorate to actively participate by voting for their preferred candidates on election day.
