MTV’s Video Music Awards: Taylor Swift Wins Big, Eminem and Megan Thee Stallion Shine

The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) took place in New York on Wednesday night, with Taylor Swift emerging as the big winner of the evening. The 33-year-old singer-songwriter took home the top prize for Video of the Year for her song "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone.

Hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, the ceremony kicked off with a performance by Eminem, who was joined on stage by Jelly Roll. Other notable performers included Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Kravitz, and Sabrina Carpenter.

The VMAs also honored the best in music videos, with winners in categories such as Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, and more. Eminem won Best Hip-Hop for his song "Houdini," while Taylor Swift took home the award for Best Pop.

In the Best Direction category, Taylor Swift won for her video "Fortnight," which she also directed. Ariana Grande won Best Cinematography for her video "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)," while Eminem won Best Editing for his video "Houdini."

The VMAs also recognized excellence in choreography, with Dua Lipa winning for her video "Houdini." Rauw Alejandro won Best Visual Effects for his video "Touching the Sky," while Megan Thee Stallion won Best Art Direction for her video "BOA."
